Christyna Giles Washington
Christyna Giles Washington has been working in the public and private sector for more than 15 years. She started her career assisting companies in the quest to reduce and maintain their spending by creating cost containment strategies which impacted company bottom line. During this time she worked with a variety of companies such as Rand Corporation, Baxter Pharmaceutical, The Capital Group, Daniel, Mann, Johnson & Mendenhall (DMJM) and DreamWorks Pictures just to name a few. She then took her talents to Founders Choice Endowments Inc. which supported the not-for-profit sector in developing legacy planning to assure that grass root and mid sized community based not-for-profits go on beyond their founder’s vision. The experience she gained working within both the public and private community provided a vast knowledge bases for creating sustainable, scaleable legacy planning within the not -for -profit segment of business.
Currently, Christyna acts in the role of a Consultant to individuals, municipalities and private companies creating solutions for those struggling with the high cost associated with or the complete reduction of medical benefits and the elimination of pension/ retirement plans. By maintaining a focus on assistance through financial literacy and education, she has been able to give back through her workshops for middle school and high school students which she facilitates throughout the Los Angeles area.
Christyna holds a degree in Organizational Communication from California State University at Long Beach; she has been a published contributor in two national publications “Essence Magazine’ and “Sorority Factor Magazine” in the area of financial preparedness. Christyna was also nominated for the LosAngeles Business Journal’s Women Making a Difference Award 2008.
Christyna believes that teaching our children healthy habits regarding sustainability of our planet is the great equalizer.
