Mr. Assum has been on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Monterey County for over 10 years, serving as President for 3 years and Board of Directors and President of Challenge Days, an organization dedicated to eliminating youth violence and social oppression. Over the past 25 years Mr. Assum has provided business consulting services to numerous companies including Exxon, Pacific Telesis, Techtronix, Clorox, ICI, Toyota, Dupont, Mars, Morton Thiokol, McGraw-Hill, etc. to support their needs pertaining to large system change, continuous improvement, rapid sustained growth, improved competitive effectiveness, improved quality, mergers & acquisitions, new startups, and improved thinking processes.
Concurrent with his consulting business in the late seventies, Mr. Assum held the position of Organization Specialist/Human Resources Director for Raychem where he supported several major change efforts and managed a human resources group responsible for 2000 employees. Prior to Raychem and the startup of his consulting business in 1977, Mr. Assum held 8 successive positions in line management for Procter & Gamble each involving major change efforts including the startup of a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, the national roll-out of new products such as Dawn, and development of a project that increased liquid manufacturing capacity by 30%, saving $50M per year. Mr. Assum was also an officer in the U.S. Navy Nuclear Submarine Program from 1964 to 1968.
Michael has a Bachelors of Science in Education from Miami University.
