Bryant Ranch Elementary School in Yorba Linda is getting out of the classroom and back to nature in their campus learning garden. Led by the Garden Club PTA, students at Bryant Ranch are slipping on their green-thumbs to learn about the benefits of gardening and the importance of knowing where your food comes from. Students are getting the opportunity to plant native plants in planter beds and reclaimed tires, but also fruits and vegetables that they get to take back home like snow peas. This year, Bryant Ranch is taking on Grades of Green’s Trash Free Lunches Activity to help reduce their lunchtime waste to 3 bags of trash or less everyday, but also to compost fruits and vegetables in their campus learning garden.
