Growing Green Habits at Kelso Elementary
In partnership with Inglewood Unified School District and the EPA, we led a waste sorting assembly at Kelso Elementary, a continuation of our work with the school after helping them plant campus gardens in 2021. Students engaged in fun, hands-on sorting activities and participated with Kelso’s new lunchtime sorting station. Guided by Grades of Green and Kelso staff, student ambassadors helped their classmates sort lunch waste. This visit also marked the launch of our after-school sessions on “less waste, more garden space,” deepening students’ sustainability practices.
Eco-Lesson of the Month
It’s time for the best (and one of the most wasteful) times of the year, the holidays! Protecting the environment shouldn’t stop when celebrating the holidays, birthdays, or any other special event.
