New York City has it’s newest Grades of Green intern; Luiza Costa!
Luiza graduated from the University of Florida in 2016 with a Bachelors of Science in Forest Resources and Conservation and a Bachelors of Arts in Sustainability Studies. Throughout her educational career, Luiza conducted research on anaerobic digestion as a form of bio-energy. She also conducted research on the behavioral changes of middle school students participating in the U.S. Forest Service’s Kids in the Woods program.
Prior to interning for Grades of Green, Luiza was an intern at Conservation Burial, Inc., a non-profit in Gainesville Florida that practices green burials and commits land to conservation easements (watch her dig, here). Luiza has also worked as a Community Crew Leader for the Student Conservation Association where she lead high school students through trail work and environmental education.
Luiza is excited to bring her passion for non-profit environmental work to Grades of Green!
