Grades of Green and its pilot school, Grand View Elementary, were featured in an LA Times blog on Grand View’s being named one of the greenest schools in the nation by U.S. Department of Education. Grand View and another Grades of Green school across the country both received the first-of-its-kind, prestigious Green Ribbon Awards for their efforts to green their school.

Grades of Green started at Grand View Elementary five years ago, and has helped create over 32 environmental education green programs there.  These programs include creating a native garden, trash free lunches and walking to school.
