Grades of Green has composed a list identifying the “Seven Worst” toxins found in schools and how children’s exposure can be reduced.  This list contains toxic substances that are found in every day products including cleaning products, fertilizers, pesticides, anti-microbial and fabrics.  Grades of Green wants to raise awareness about these harmful toxins because only 5 chemicals are being restricted by the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) out of 84,000.  Grades of Green has also created a list of ways to reduce exposure, some as simple as using air fresheners and cleaning products that do not contain artificial fragrances and encouraging the use of simple soap and water over antibacterials to disinfect hands, surfaces and toys.
