For the third year in a row, Grades of Green’s Youth Corps Eco-Leadership students made a huge impact by speaking at TEDx Manhattan Beach! At the beginning of lunchtime, the Youth Corps students gave a presentation explaining the benefits of the 3R’s (reduce, reuse, recycle), why reducing waste is so important, and how guests could make a difference by sorting their lunchtime waste. As guests finished their meals, they were invited to visit any of the 12 sorting stations located at the venue, which offered them the opportunity to recycle bottles, cans, paper, and plastic packaging, compost all food waste, and separate small wrappers in a landfill can. Over 700 attendees heard the presentation, and were hopefully inspired to continue sorting at TEDx and beyond!
