Grades of Green participated in their first Twitter Party on September 19th with nonprofit partner Healthy Child Healthy World! The event was a huge success with Twitter users from all over the country sharing ideas about creating healthier school environments for kids. The discussion focused on issues that may contribute to toxicity in schools, such as poor indoor air quality, chemicals in cleaning supplies, pesticide use on school campuses, and unhealthy food options in the cafeteria. Check out this Toxins in Classroom Infographic. The event was created by Healthy Child Healthy World, whose mission is to empower parents to take action and protect children from harmful chemicals. Grades of Green was happy to contribute their knowledge about green cleaning supplies, pesticide reduction, native gardesn, and no idle zones to the conversation. In addition to Grades of Green, the featured panelists included the Jamie Oliver Food Foundationand the Washington Toxics Coalition.

Healthy Child Healthy World will also be hosting a webinar called “Easy Steps to Healthier Schools” on Ocotober 10th at 11AM PT/2PM ET. For more information, go here.
