The Grades of Green team kicked off Earth Week by hosting a booth at the Hawthorne Earth Day Fair on Saturday, April 16th, and STAR Eco-Station’s Earth Day Celebration in Culver City on Sunday, April 17th. These fun filled events included food trucks, interactive booths featuring environmentally-minded organizations, games, and live music and performances. In fact, one of the performances was Grades of Green Youth Corps student Shelby premiering her new eco-song for kids at the Hawthorne Earth Day Fair. Shelby and her fellow Grades of Green Youth Corps members Daniel and Johanna led our booth at these two events and were joined by our friends at the National Charity League who volunteered to help us spread the word about Grades of Green. The booth featured our best practices in waste reduction, such as how to pack a Trash Free Lunch, and our Natural Resources matching game. Over 400 guests visited us throughout the two days to play games, answer Trashy Trivia quiz card questions, and learn more about the Grades of Green program. Thank you Hawthorne and Culver City for welcoming Grades of Green into your communities! Interested in visiting us at an earth month festival? Check out our full schedule of events here!
