On March 15th, five Youth Corps students hosted a Grades of Green booth at the City of Lakewood Earth Walk event. Thanks to the support of the Murad Foundation, the booth featured information about the Grades of Green program, ideas on how to pack a trash free lunch, and a recycled water bottle display. At the booth, visitors were able to select fabric scraps from a used scrap collection box and the Grades of Green students would sew the scraps together to make a reusable snack pouch to take home.  Donations went to helping Youth Corps member Aidan fund his Green Project, installing hydration stations at his school. Overall 158 reusable snack pouches were made, and over $70 was collected for the hydration stations. Thank you to the City of Lakewood for inviting Grades of Green to be a part of this event!  For more information about Grades of Green’s Trash Free Lunch Green Activity, go here.
