Join us and the South Bay community in celebrating local sustainability efforts at Greener Days in the South Bay!

In partnership with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders, this weekend invites you to explore, learn, and connect through family-friendly activities, hands-on engagement, and inspiring conversations.

From May 15–17, enjoy a variety of experiences—from scavenger hunts at Lazy Acres Natural Market (Hermosa Beach) to garden tours with the Manhattan Beach Botanic Garden—all designed to show how small, everyday actions can make a meaningful impact.

Start your weekend with nature and community.

On Friday, May 15, guests will have the opportunity to join a guided Garden Tour at the Manhattan Beach Botanic Garden. Wander among a diverse range of plant species, learn about their direct impact on the local ecosystem (including the “minibeasts” that help it thrive!), and experience a truly community-led space. You’ll also have the chance to meet volunteers and connect with others who are passionate about sustainability in the South Bay.

Discover, explore, and get inspired on Saturday

Saturday, May 16, offers something for everyone—whether you’re interested in sustainability careers, interactive activities, or simply trying something new.

If you’re curious about pursuing a green career, don’t miss the Green Career Pathways Panel with Clean Power Alliance at the George E. Gordon Clubhouse. Representatives will share what inspired them to pursue energy-focused roles, how they make an impact, and the experiences that shaped their journeys. It’s a great opportunity to learn what a future in sustainability can look like.

Earlier in the day, Lazy Acres Natural Market in Hermosa Beach will host an exciting Sustainability Scavenger Hunt. Participants will explore the store to discover how everyday choices—like what you buy at the grocery store—can positively impact the planet. Complete the hunt for a chance to be crowned a South Bay Earth Hero and enter a prize drawing for the Blue Food Cookbook! Don’t forget to share your experience using #GreenerDaysintheSouthBay, #GradesofGreen, and #LazyAcresNaturalMarket.

If you’re in the mood for something more hands-on, head to the George E. Gordon Clubhouse courtyard for a variety of activities, including a Microgreen Activity with Flourish & Feast Gardens, a Compost Mini-Demo with The Greenprint Club, and a Resource Booth hosted by South Bay Parkland Conservancy. These experiences make sustainability approachable, interactive, and easy to bring into your daily life.

You can also support the community by visiting DACHA Manhattan Beach, where giving back meets conscious shopping—featuring items from plants to home goods that contribute to local impact.

Wrap up the weekend with community fun.

On Sunday, May 17, join us at Far Field Beer Company for Green Community Fun, where sustainability meets a relaxed, social setting. Enjoy family-friendly activities and parent-friendly drinks while learning about sustainability in the brewing industry. It’s the perfect way to wind down the weekend—so bring a friend or two and celebrate together.

Be part of something bigger.

Greener Days in the South Bay isn’t just a series of events—it’s a chance to connect with your community and be part of a growing movement toward a more sustainable future. Whether you’re deeply involved in climate action or just starting to explore, you’ll walk away with new ideas, new connections, and inspiration to make a difference.

Bring your friends, family, and partners, and join us in celebrating another year of green growth.
