To kick off our spring outreach events, Grades of Green was invited to host a booth at the City of Lakewood Earth Walk event at the beautiful Monte Verde Park in Hawthorne. The booth featured information about the Grades of Green program including how to register a school on the website, how to pack a trash free lunch and how to get involved in the Youth Corps Eco-Leadership program or Trash Free Lunch Challenge. As community members explored the various hands-on learning stations at the event, they answered Trashy Trivia questions about how to reduce their waste at the Grades of Green booth. 179 people were educated about the importance of protecting the environment as a result.
