About Grades of Green

Grades of Green is changing the course of the future by making environmental protection second-nature in young minds. We mentor young people and provide them with the leadership skills, resources and connections they need to solve today’s environmental challenges. We are mobilizing an entire generation to tackle local challenges that lead to global impact. Grades of Green began in 2009 at one school in Southern California. Since then, it has grown to inspire and empower more than half a million students across 47 states and 27 counties, to take-action and care for our environment.

Internship Positions Available

  • UPLIFT Environmental Justice Intern: Grades of Green is seeking an Environmental Justice Intern to support our Environmental Justice initiative to reach school districts that are frontline communities, historically underserved, and/or SB535 DAC communities. The program intern will assist in creating essential UPLIFT program materials including research/data, development of environmental justice focused Eco-Toolkits, compile campus resources, identify grant/funding opportunities for schools, and will work with the EPA’s EJScreen tool to develop reports/explainers for districts.
  • UPLIFT Program Development Intern: Grades of Green is seeking a Program Development Intern to create trainings for campus staff on proper waste sorting and campus composting methods. Projects include, but are not limited to, training PowerPoints and videos, compiling resources for school districts that support sustainability goals, defining how a campus sustainability committee is formed, and supporting resources for organics waste diversion (SB1383).
  • UPLIFT Research Intern: Grades of Green is seeking a Research Intern to develop a thorough base of information that supports our Environmental Justice initiative. The Research Intern will compile data, research field trip resources, funding/grant opportunities, program opportunities and information on specific waste haulers as it relates to their SB1383 support for schools.
