On October 16th, KIWI magazine and the School Nutrition Association have partnered to host a day where parents will visit their children’s school and have lunch with them in the cafeteria. Grades of Green would like to encourage you to participate and challenge you to make your lunch that day trash free! The goal of National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day is to learn more about what goes into putting together a healthy lunch, and for parents and school officials to open lines of communication so they can work together to provide kids with the healthiest meals possible. Is your whole school involved? You could even win a $1000 grant to improve your kid’s lunch program by going here. Go here to learn more information on the event. And check out Grades of Green’s Trash Free Tuesday activity, which has tips for bringing a trash free lunch to school on Take Your Parents to Lunch Day.
