What is LAUNCH for Educators?

  • Fun and interactive step-by-step NGSS aligned Eco-Lessons for K-12th educators to lead a group of students 
  • LAUNCH Eco-Lessons give teachers and students the tools needed to take action and make an everlasting environmental impact. 
  • All Kindergarten through 12th grade Educators are welcome to participate and eligible to earn educator stipends.

Leaf Stipend Program

Educators can earn a LAUNCH stipend by collecting leaves. Look for the Eco-Level indicated by the number of leaves on each lesson. The top leaf earner will receive a Grand Leaf Winner certificate and higher stipend!*

  • Earn 8 leaves by completing a minimum of 2 lessons to receive a $100 stipend
  • Earn 15 leaves by completing a minimum of 4 lessons or completing a single series to receive a $250 stipend
  • Two Grand Leaf Winners will receive a $500 Stipend by making the biggest environmental impact! (one within the United States and one international)

LAUNCH Stipend Requirements

  • Register for the LAUNCH Program
  • Submit Results Form for each lesson with pictures and/or video with Consent/Permission Form for all students in photos/videos – must show multiple students using the lesson.
  • Ages of students must be 18 or under
  • End of program: Complete Stipend Form and Program Feedback form at the end of the school year
  • Limited number of stipends are available

**District Program/UPLIFT users have a separate stipend program/process and do not qualify for LAUNCH Stipends, see this page for more information

*Note: All lesson wrap up forms for stipends are subject to review by Grades of Green to determine qualification. Educators are limited to a single stipend.

When and Where Can Educators Use LAUNCH?

Every LAUNCH eco-lesson can be started at any time of the year between August 1st through June 15th! Each lesson has suggested timelines to complete the activity in addition to options on how to continue your project as an ongoing project.

Isabella Lee
Multmedia Outreach & Operations Specialist

Born and raised in Los Angeles County, Isabella studied Psychology at UCLA with a focus on Digital Humanities and Community Engagement. A lifelong creative, she’s been drawing since childhood and has explored many forms of art—from painting and digital illustration to video editing. During college, Isabella discovered a passion for user experience design, which combined her technical skills with her love for thoughtful, people-centered problem solving. She gained hands-on experience in UX, website design, and project management through various academic projects and internships. Isabella is proud to support environmental education through Grades of Green, where she brings together her creativity and advocacy. In high school, her artwork was recognized in an international ocean awareness competition, and in college, she received an award from a UCLA student organization for a piece highlighting the connection between nature and mental health. Outside of work, Isabella enjoys reading, drawing, and finding inspiration in everyday moments.
