Right now, Campaigns Teams from schools and community groups representing 40+ cities and 10 countries around the globe have joined the Waste Campaign, and are being paired with a Grades of Green Mentor to guide them through each step of the way. There is still time to join our global community of eco-leaders creating waste solutions – registration is open until January 11th.

Who can join the Waste Campaign?
Any group of at least 3 students and 1 adult lead can join as a Campaign Team. Campaign Teams can come from schools, community groups, after school clubs and more, and the adult lead can be a teacher, administrator, custodian, or parent volunteer. The Waste Campaign is designed for grades 6-12, but if you’re a passionate elementary age team, then your Mentor can help customize the program for you to participate.

How much time does it take to complete?
The Waste Campaign is a 4-month program that starts January 24th and ends in early April during Earth Month, when the winning Campaign Teams will be announced. The program is a minimum 15-hour time commitment over the course of the spring semester. We recommend that Campaign Teams meet at least once per week to work on their Waste Campaign Solution.

Can I build off of existing green projects at my school?
Yes! The Waste Campaign is a great way to expand your school or community group’s composting, recycling, or e-waste collection programs. If your school already has a green club, the Waste Campaign is a unique opportunity to join a global community and expand your eco achievements.
