Verte Gala 2023 made a big splash with an unforgettable evening celebrating environmental leadership, community impact, and the power of student-driven change. Supporters, sponsors, students, and environmental advocates gathered to champion the mission of Grades of Green and its work empowering student eco-leaders around the world.

The evening honored two extraordinary changemakers whose dedication to sustainability and philanthropy continues to inspire action. Activist and philanthropist Melanie Lundquist received the Mother Earth Award in recognition of her impactful advocacy and commitment to environmental and community initiatives. The Environmental Innovator Award was presented to Ethan Brown, founder and CEO of Beyond Meat, for his pioneering leadership in advancing plant-based food innovation and creating more sustainable food systems.

Guests kicked off the evening with an open bar featuring signature cocktails and bites while enjoying a lively silent auction and raffle. The celebration continued with a three-course sustainable dinner paired with select small-vineyard wines, followed by a dynamic live auction and a powerful Student Impact Showcase highlighting the inspiring work of Grades of Green students tackling environmental challenges in their schools and communities. Special culinary experiences and tastings from partners including Lazy Acres Natural Market and Beyond Meat added to the immersive atmosphere of innovation and sustainability throughout the evening.
