For the second year in a row, Waste Management is providing first graders in the Manhattan Beach school district with free reusable lunchboxes. Waste Management and Grades of Green have been working together for the past five years to reduce trash at lunch time. Waste Management representative, Stephone Paige stated, “the typical student generates approximately 67 pounds of trash per year just in their school lunch. We thought that providing a reusable lunch box would not only help significantly reduce waste but also provide a warm welcome to first graders.” Go here to read the full article in the Beach Reporter.
