Why are our eco-leaders, like the Grades of Green Team at Sacramento Country Day School, working so hard to save water? According to
WHO and UNICEF’s most recent Progress on Drinking Water, Sanitation and Hygiene report, by 2025, 1.8 billion people will be living in areas with absolute water scarcity. In less than 10 years, two-thirds of the world population could be under water stress conditions.
Grades of Green students at 40 schools across the world are taking action to conserve water through our 2018 Global Water Challenge because the future of our Earth’s water supply is at stake. By making daily habit changes to save water, launching an awareness campaign at school about the importance of water conservation, and creating a community-wide water conservation solution, Global Water Challenge schools from Long Beach to Nairobi are creating a ripple effect of change that will protect the future of our Earth’s water supply for generations to come.
