Born in Delhi and raised in Sydney and Chicago, Gauri’s passion for environmental stewardship began at a young age. She fell in love with the ocean while growing up in Sydney, Australia. Family trips to Blue Mountains, Sydney Harbour and many coastline beaches awakened her senses to the beauty of natural habitats. There was so much joy found in exploring sea creatures, collecting sea shells and watching the kelp and microalgae dance along the surface waves of Port Jackson. She found feeding kangaroos and petting koalas in the outback fascinating as well.
She continued to be amazed by the ocean and developed an interest in “agricultura” while traveling to many regions of the world including Africa, Europe, South Asia, South America and The Caribbean. As a Sr. Brand Consultant and Director of Marketing & Outreach for Whole Foods Market, she visited a variety of sustainable tequila distilleries in Mexico that opened her eyes to the importance of taking proper actions to minimize waste and protect environmental resources.
Gauri’s career spans the fields of Health & Wellness, Public Service and Brand Management. She is a Former Santa Monica City Commissioner & Chamber Board Director. She is CEO of a boutique consultancy specializing in brand marketing and executive business coaching and received the city, state and county commerce awards for excellence in business leadership and community outreach.
Graduating top of her class, she holds a B.A. in Communications from DePaul University. Various certifications include Social Entrepreneurship – DePaul’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, RYT 500 hr. Yoga Teacher – Yoga Alliance and Food As Medicine – The Center for Mind, Body Medicine in D.C.
She is passionate about teaching youth how to care for “mother earth” and the importance of “conscious living”. She believes that future generations have the ability to become fierce advocates for environmental stewardship & well-being through “green” mentorship and the implementation of creative educational programming.
