Programs and Communications Volunteer
Whitney is a junior at Vistamar Highschool in El Segundo, Los Angeles, and had been working with Grades of Green since her freshman year when she participated in the Waste Campaign. Beginning in her sophomore year, Whitney worked with the Communications team as a summer intern making social media posts for Grades of Green. She loves doing this work and continues to keep the account updated on the accomplishments of campaign teams and environment-related information. In the fall of her junior year, Whitney attended an environmental science-focused semester program in Maine, and participated in a capstone project where she researched Manhattan Beach’s green waste service and reached out to over forty commercial businesses – and spoke in front of City Council – to ensure the effectiveness of the program. Currently, Whitney works with Grades of Green’s Programs team to contribute ideas to developing toolkits and campaigns.
