Upon hearing about California’s severe drought, Youth Corps 5th grader, Joshua, decided he wanted to take action! Joshua created a walking assembly presentation to deliver to the students in his school’s after school program. His speech included facts about how much water we consume, how students can save water at school, and ideas on how to save water at home. At the end of the presentation, Joshua rewarded his peers who brought a reusable water bottle to school with a “Water Hero” sticker, and gave everyone flyers that they could take home and share with their families to remind them how they can conserve water. By the end of the day, Joshua inspired 70 of his peers to conserve water! Way to go Joshua!
