Youth Corps student Rachel started a Green Team at her elementary school, Castle Heights in Los Angeles, CA, as her Green Project this year. Each year Castle Heights hosts a series of events during earth week to raise awareness about environmental protection, and Rachel is leading the student involvement portion of this week long event this year. Check out this video of how Rachel recruited students to join the school’s Green Team and help with earth week. The Green Team is currently planning to host a Walk to School event, Bottles and Cans Recycling collection, and a recycled art contest during Earth Week 2014. It looks like Castle Heights will have a wonderful Earth Week, thanks to Rachel and her Green Team. Way to go Rachel!
