The Grades of Green team kicked off Earth Month at the Hawthorne Earth Day Fair on Saturday, April 11th. The event included live music, Zumba dancing, a scavenger hunt game for guests, and over 20 interactive booths to check out. Grades of Green Youth Corps students Daniel and Vanessa led the Grades of Green booth, and were joined by our friends at the National Charity League who volunteered to help us spread the word about Grades of Green. The booth featured our best practices in waste reduction, such as how to pack a Trash Free Lunch and buy in bulk, and our Natural Resources matching game. 170 guests visited the booth throughout the day to play games, answer Trashy Trivia quiz card questions, and learn more about the Grades of Green program. Thank you Hawthorne for welcoming Grades of Green to your community.
